Trump threw Vance under the bus with his taunts of Iran

President Donald Trump took down his vice president while he was in the middle of peace talks with a Truth Social quote calling on Allah to brag about killing Iran’s leaders.

“The fake news media has completely lost credibility, they had no credibility to begin with,” Trump, 79, wrote in a speech Saturday morning. “Because of the Great Trump Derangement Syndrome (Sometimes called TDS!), they like to say Iran is ‘winning’ when in reality, everyone knows they are LOSING and LOSING BIG!

Trump went on to claim that “Iran’s Navy is gone, their Air Force is gone, their Air Defense apparatus is defunct, their Radar has stopped working, their Missile and Drone Factories have been largely wiped out along with the Missiles and Drones themselves and most importantly their long time ‘Leaders’ are no longer with us, thank Allah!”

The president’s post came just as talks between Iranian and US officials began in Islamabad, Pakistan, on Saturday. Trump’s post did not mention the negotiations that Vice President J.D. Vance is leading with special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

Vance’s request differs from what Kushner and Witkoff made before the negotiations.

The vice president has been adamant that Iran should not have the ability to enrich uranium, the material used to make nuclear weapons, while Kushner and Witkoff have offered a softer deal in which the United States would actually supply uranium to Iran for civilian use.

Kushner and Witkoff led negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, but those efforts apparently failed when Trump launched an illegal war on the country on February 28.

Iran has since said it does not want to deal with the president’s son-in-law, or Witkoff, as regime officials said they saw the negotiations with Kushner and Witkoff as a front for the Trump administration to trick Iran into thinking it was negotiating in good faith, when the US really just wanted to launch an attack.

Iran said it only wanted to negotiate with Vance, who has long expressed opposition to US military intervention in the Middle East.

The president’s post also claimed that the United States was working to reopen the Strait of Hormuz “as a favor” to the country’s allies and adversaries — not least because average U.S. gas prices spiked more in March than in any other month since 1967.

“We are now beginning the process of clearing the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to countries around the world, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany and many others. Incredibly, they do not have the courage or will to do this job themselves,” Trump wrote.

It’s unclear exactly what clearing the strait entails.

Iran has effectively shut down a waterway vital to shipping as a result of Trump’s war. It has emerged as a key lever for Tehran amid soaring global oil and gas prices.

The President added that “However, it is very interesting that empty tankers from many countries are headed to the United States of America to turn ON the Oil.”

Trump has begged America’s allies to help him open the strait, but most of them are unwilling to do so. As a result, his administration is said to be considering penalties for NATO allies that do not fully support the president’s war in Iran.

The strait gave Trump such a headache that he threatened to kill all of Iran’s people if it did not reopen, a threat he later backed down on when the US and Iran reached a ceasefire.

In another post on Truth Social on Saturday morning, Trump made a pitch for “sweet” US crude.

“Right now, a large number of empty tankers, some of the largest in the world, are heading to the United States to load the best and ‘sweetest’ oil (and gas!) anywhere in the World,” he said.
